The question:

by Stan
(Davenport)

Solve the equation. Enter the answer as an equation that shows the value of the variable (like s = 2/3, or w = 4). If necessary, submit your answer as an improper fraction.-2x + 11 = 41

The answer:

-2x + 11 = 41

Subtract 11 from each side of the equation

-2x + 11 - 11 = 41 - 11

-2x + 0 = 41 - 11

-2x = 30

Divide each side of the equation by -2

-2x/(-2) = 30/(-2)

x * (-2)/(-2) = 30/(-2)

x * 1 = 30/(-2)

x = 30/(-2)

x = -15

the final answer to your question is:

substitute -15 for x

(-2) * (-15) + 11 = 41

Thanks for writing.
