Question:

2x + 2 = 3

Answer:

2x + 2 = 3

Subtract 2 from each side of the equation

2x + 2 - 2 = 3 - 2

2x + 0 = 3 - 2

2x = 3 - 2

2x = 1

Divide each side of the equation by 2

2x/2 = 1/2

x*(2/2) = ½

x*(1) = ½

x = ½

>>>>>>>>>> The FINAL ANSWER is: x = ½

Check the answer by substituting ½ for x in the original equation:

2x + 2 = 3

2*(½) + 2 = 3

(2/2) + 2 = 3

(1) + 2 = 3

1 + 2 = 3

3 = 3, OK → x = ½ is a VALID solution

Thanks for writing.
