Question:

(NY, NY, USA)

bob made $50 yesterday. today he worked 8 hours. his pay after 2 days was $130. how much does he make per hour?

Answer:

(Yesterday’s Pay) + (Today’s Pay) = (Two Day’s Pay)

(Yesterday’s Pay) + (Today’s Pay) = $130

$50 + (Today’s Pay) = $130

$50 + (Today’s Pay) - $50 = $130 - $50

$50 - $50 + (Today’s Pay) = $130 - $50

0 + (Today’s Pay) = $130 - $50

(Today’s Pay) = $130 - $50

(Today’s Pay) = $80

today Bob worked 8 hours

(rate of pay) * 8 hrs = (Today’s Pay)

(rate of pay) * 8 hrs = $80

(rate of pay) * 8 hrs / (8 hrs) = $80 / (8 hrs)

(rate of pay) * 1 = $80 / (8 hrs)

(rate of pay) = $80 / (8 hrs)

(rate of pay) = $10 / hr

>>> the final answer is: $10 per hour
