THE PRICE OF A CERTAIN STOCK AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK $61. HERE ARE THE CHANGES IN PRICE DURING THE WEEK: +3,+2,-1,-4,-5. WHAT IS THE PRICE OF THE STOCK AT THE END OF THE WEEK?

Answer:

Since the early 2000’s the NYSE and the American Stock Exchange have used decimal pricing (rather than eights or sixteenths of a dollar).

However, the problem statement does not state whether the +3, +2, etc represents dollar changes or percent changes.

Assuming the changes indicate dollar changes:

$61 +3 +2 -1 -4 -5 = $56

The price at the end of the week = $56
