The question:

negative 6 times the 7th root of 2 minus 2 times the 7th root of 256

The answer:

negative 6 times the 7th root of 2 minus 2 times the 7th root of 256

(-6)*[(2)^(1/7)] – (2)*[(256)^(1/7)]

(-6)*[(2)^(1/7)] – (2)*[(2*128)^(1/7)]

(-6)*[(2)^(1/7)] – (2)*[(2)^(1/7)]*[(128)^(1/7)]

Note: 128^(1/7) = 2

(-6)*[(2)^(1/7)] – (2)*[(2)^(1/7)]*2

(-6)*[(2)^(1/7)] – (4)*[(2)^(1/7)]

At this point you factor out the [(2)^(1/7)]

[(2)^(1/7)](-6-4)

[(2)^(1/7)](-10)

Final answer

(-10)*[(2)^(1/7)], which can be written as: negative 10 times the 7th root of 2

Thanks for writing.
