Question:

How would you select a sample of 100 students from your student body so that you would get representative of each class?

Answer:

The 100 student sample is a subset of the entire student body.

However, the student body is not homogeneous.

Each of the four classes (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students) is a unique subset of the student body.

To ensure the 100 student sample properly represents each class in the student body:

1. start with a list of the students in every class (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students).

2. Randomly select 25 students from each class.
