Question:

how do you comapare fractions using a number line?

Answer:

In the majority of cases, this is a two step process.

First, each fraction is converted to its decimal equivalent. (This makes the numbers easier to work with.)

Second, the equivalent decimal values of each fraction are plotted on the same number line.

To convert a fraction to its decimal equivalent, simply divide the numerator by the denominator.

For example, the fraction 3/5 can be converted to its decimal equivalent as follows:

3/5

= 3 ÷ 5

= 0.6
