Introduction to Radicals & Roots:
The "Radical Symbol" is a shorthand notation which stands for the roots of the number (or expression) in the radicand.
For example, the cuberoot of8stands for the number that can be multiplied by itself three times (cubed) to equal 8:
Since, 2 * 2 * 2 = 8, the cube root of 8 is 2.
The 3 in the expression is called the root index, and the 8 is called the radicand.
