Question:

Put the following numbers in order from greatest to least: 10%, -0.5, 1/5, -1/4, 0.15

Answer:

10%, -0.5, 1/5, -1/4, 0.15

CONVERT ALL NUMBERS TO THEIR DECIMAL FORM, and then arrange the numbers in order

To convert the 10% to its decimal form, divide 10% by 100:

10% ÷ 100 = 0.1

To convert the 1/5 and the -1/4 to their decimal forms, divide the numerator by the denominator:

1/5 = 1 ÷ 5 = 0.2

-1/4 = -1 ÷ 4 = -0.25

In their decimal form, the numbers are:

0.1, -0.5, 0.2, -0.25, 0.15

Arrange the decimal form of all the numbers from greatest to least:

0.2, 0.15, 0.1, -0.25, -0.5

Restore the original format for each number:

1/5, 0.15, 10%, -1/4, -0.5

The final answer is:

1/5, 0.15, 10%, -1/4, -0.5
