Oct 25, 2011 Maths - Scale Drawing by: Staff Question: by Lisa (Perth, Australia) draw a scale giagram front view of the book case use scale1:10 Answer: You didn’t include a diagram of the bookcase, but it will be easy for you to make a drawing with a ratio of 1:10. Let’s say the bookcase is 2 meters high. Using a ratio of 1 to 10, the height of your scale drawing will be: 2 meters * (1/10) = 0.2 meters (or 20 centimeters) The same reasoning will hold true for the width of the bookcase. Suppose the bookcase is 1 ¼ meters wide. Again, using a ratio of 1 to 10, the width of your scale drawing will be: 1.25 meters * (1/10) = 0.125 meters (or 12.5 centimeters) This approach will work for every dimension on your scale drawing.
