The question:

find 0.7% of 210?

The answer:

find 0.7% of 210?

Substitute the words “multiplied by” for the word “of”

find 0.7% of 210?

0.7% “multiplied by” 210

0.7% * 210 =

Before you complete the multiplication, convert the .7% to a decimal number which does not have a % sign.

One way to remember how to do this is to use the % sign itself. There are two 0’s in the % sign.

Because there are two zero’s in the % sign, divide the 0.7 by 100 (100 has 2 zeros). This will convert the .7% to a pure decimal (which has no percent sign associated with it).

(0.7)/100 * 210 =

(0.007) * 210 =

0.007 * 210 =

0.007 * 210 = 1.47

The final answer: 1.47
