At a supermarket the hourly pay increased from $14 to $15.50. What is the percent increase in pay?

Answer:

% Increase in pay:

% increase in hourly pay = 100*(Current hourly pay - Original hourly pay)/( Original hourly pay)

% increase in cost per cough drop = 100*(15.50 – 14.00)/( 14.00)

% increase in cost per cough drop = 100*(1.50)/(14.00)

% increase in cost per cough drop = 10.7143%

>>> The final answer is: 10.7% increase

maybe add some more info
by: j nick

You Wrote the answer-
% increase in hourly pay = 100*(Current hourly pay - Original hourly pay)/( Original hourly pay)

Maybe input #'s next time also.
% = 100 x (15.50 - 14.00)/ 14.00

% = 100 x 1.5 / 14.00

% = 150.0 / 14.00

% = 10.71
Thanks for answering the question.
