Polynomials and like terms

Simplify Polynomials

This is an example of the kind of questions that I don't understand. If I could get a walk through with this problem I'd really appreciate it.

4x² + 8x - 6 - 7x + 12

You didn’t say what your question actually is.

I assume your teacher wants you to simplify the polynomial expression.

The only thing I see that needs to be done is to combine like terms.

           4x² + 8x - 6 - 7x + 12

           4x² + 8x - 6 - 7x + 12

           4x² + 8x - 7x + 12 - 6

           4x² + (+ 8x - 7x) + (+ 12 - 6)

           4x² + x + 6

           4x² + x + 6

Final Answer:

4x² + x + 6

Thanks for writing.
