The question:

Mrs. North is the faculty sponsor for the homecoming parade. Her class built a small catapult that will throw confetti straight up over the heads of the crowd and fall into a circular area. If the catapult can throw confetti so that its spread has a 20-foot radius, what is the area the confetti will cover?

The answer:

To answer this question, all that needs to be done is to calculate the area of a circle with a 20 foot radius.

A = π*r²

A = area
π = pi = 3.14159
r = radius of the circle
A = π*(20 ft)²

A = 1,256.7 square feet

The final answer is: 1,256.7 square feet

Thanks for writing.
