Question:

you have to write 0.63 as a fraction how do you choose the denominator

Answer:

0.63 = the fraction 63/100

You know the denominator begins with a 1 and has two zero’s (= 100) because 0.63 has two decimal places.

0.63 means 63 hundredths, or 63/100

0.6 means 6 tenths, or 6/10

0.631 means 631 thousandths, or 631/1000

Use a calculator to check the answer by dividing 63 by 100. The calculator will show that 63 ÷ 100 = 0.63

Thanks for writing.
