Question:

(Pakistan)

how the cube root of 8 is solved

Answer:

Finding the cube root of 8 is similar to finding the square root of 4

The square root of 4 = √4

= √(2×2)

= √(2²)

= 2

To find the cube root of 8, all you need to do is factor the 8.

The cube root of 8 = ∛8

= ∛(2×2×2)

= ∛(2³)

= 2

Here is another example which you can use for comparison purposes:

The 4th root of 16 = ∜16

= ∜(2×2×2×2)

= ∜(2⁴)

= 2
