Question:

F = C when both are equal

At what temperature will the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (F) and degrees Centigrade (C) be equal?

Answer:

F = (9/5) C + 32

F = C

F = (9/5 F ) + 32

F – F - 32 = (9/5) F - F + 32 - 32

0 - 32 = (9/5) F - F + 0

- 32 = (4/5) F

F = (5/4)(-32)

F = -40

>>> F and C are equal at -40°
